The admission counseling for all Health Science courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPTh, BOTh, BASLP, and BP&O in any Health Science Educational Institution within a State or Union Territory including institutions established by the Central Government, State Government, Universities, Trusts, Societies, Minority Institutions, Corporations, or Companies—shall be conducted exclusively by the respective State or Union Territory Government. This centralized counseling process will function under the overall supervision, direction, and authority of the concerned State or Union Territory Government to ensure transparency and uniformity in admissions.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPTh) course in Maharashtra, the candidate must be an Indian national and must have registered online with the State CET Cell, Mumbai. The applicant should be born on or before 31st December 2007. Educationally, the candidate must have passed the HSC (12th standard) or its equivalent examination from an institution located within Maharashtra, with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology) as compulsory subjects. While there is no minimum percentage requirement for BPTh admissions, passing the HSC examination is mandatory.
Admission to the BPTh course is strictly based on merit in NEET-UG 2024. There is no specific percentile requirement for BPTh; candidates only need to qualify NEET-UG 2024. Additionally, the candidate must be domiciled in Maharashtra, except for those applying under the Institutional Quota or exempted categories such as children of Government or Defense employees.
A valid medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure-H) must be submitted at the time of document verification. Moreover, the candidate should have passed the SSC (10th standard) examination from an institution located in Maharashtra. However, exceptions may apply as per government rules, particularly for children of employees who have been transferred from outside the state.
For seats under the Institutional Quota in private or minority colleges, candidates from outside Maharashtra (OMS), as well as NRI and OCI candidates, are eligible to apply, provided they qualify NEET-UG 2024 and meet the merit criteria.

Counseling Rounds:-
Candidates seeking admission to BPTh, BOTh, BASLP, and BP&O courses must have qualified NEET-UG 2024 to be eligible for the selection process. All eligible candidates are required to register within the specified period announced in the official notification for the NEET-UG 2024 admission process for State Quota seats, which are managed by the Commissioner, State CET Cell. Registration is mandatory and can be done prior to Round 1 and again before Round 3 of the counseling process.
CAP Round1 Process:
If the candidate joins his/her Round1 seat and wants to upgrade his/her allotted seat, then he/she shall NOT fill Status Retention Form and will have to fill fresh choice(s) for Round2.
If a Candidate joins and is satisfied with the seat allotted in Round1 and is not willing for up-gradation in Round2, he/she can fill Status Retention Form. Such a candidate will not be considered for any of the further round(s) during the admission process of NEET-UG 2024. However such a candidate can resign from the allotted seat before the prescribed/stipulated date. Such a candidate will be eligible for Round2 & Round3.
If the candidate is selected in Round1 of counseling and does not report at the allotted institute, this will be considered as ‘free exit’ (option available only in Round1 & Round2). No new registration is required. However, such a candidate may participate again in Round2 & Round3 after logging in with their earlier Registration details and filling fresh preference(s). His/her selection of Round1 stands cancelled. The seat so allotted to such a candidate who does not join, will be presumed to be a vacant seat as on the last date of joining and from the next date after the date set out as the last date for joining the college in terms of such allotment. Such a vacant seat will be allotted in Round2 of the admission process.
CAP Round2 Process:
Available Seats for Round 2: 1.Seats not allotted during Round1. 2. Seats vacant due to non-joining / cancellation by candidate(s) allotted in Round1. 3. Seats available due to up-gradation of candidate(s), who have been allotted during Round1 and joined the seat.
Following types of Candidates are eligible for seat allotment in Round2: 1. Registered candidates who did not fill choices in Round1. 2. Registered candidates who participated in Round1 but did not get any seat allotted in the 1st Round. 3. Registered candidates, whose seat allotted in 1st Round got cancelled during the document verification due to his/her invalid/wrong claim on reporting for admission to the selected Institute, but candidate is otherwise eligible for selection with change in the invalid/wrong claim. For such a candidate, selection during first round will not be valid and he/she will be eligible only on available seats during 2nd Round with corrected claim. 4. Candidates who have reported/joined at allotted institute during the joining period of Round1 of allotment and did not filled Status Retention Form. 5. Candidate who does not join the allotted seat during Round1. 6. Candidate who has joined and resigned upto the last date of joining Round1.
Candidate will have to fill fresh choices for Round2. Round1 choices will be considered as null & void. If a candidate is not interested to participate in Round2, he/she should not fill preferences for Round2 and such a candidate who has joined during Round1, will retain his/her Round1 seat.
The allotment of seat for Round 2 will be as per the merit and preference(s) filled by the candidates for Round 2. 1. If a candidate joined during Round 1, is upgraded in Round 2 (as per his/ her preference(s) submitted during Round 2), his/her allotted seat of Round 1 will be available in Round 2 and allotted as per merit in the same round. 2. If a candidate joined during Round 1 and does not get upgraded in Round 2 (i.e. no seat is allotted during Round 2), he/she will retain allotted seat of Round 1. 3. Candidate with no seat in hand at the end of Round 2, will be eligible for Round 3.
Following types of Candidates are not eligible for seat allotment in Round2: 1. Candidates who have joined Round1 allotted seat and filled Status Retention Form. 2. Candidates who have not filled fresh preferences.
If a candidate is selected during Round 2, he/she will have to join the college / seat allotted during second round. After joining the allotted institute in Round2 & not filled status retention, the candidate will be eligible to participate in any further round(s) of State Counseling Process.
If a candidate does not join the selected seat during Round 2, he/she will be eligible for Round 3 of selection. If such a candidate wishes to apply for Round 3, he/she will have to fill the preference for Round 3.
CAP Round 3 Process
Available Seats for Round 3: 1.Seats that remained unallotted during Round 2. 2. Seats that became vacant due to cancellation or non-joining by candidates allotted seats in Round 2.
Candidates Eligible for Seat Allotment in Round 3: 1.Registered candidates who did not submit choices in both Round 1 and Round 2. 2. Registered candidates who participated in Round 1 and/or Round 2 but did not receive any seat allotment in either round. 3. Candidates who were allotted and joined seats in Round 1 or Round 2 but did not fill the Status Retention Form. 4. New candidates who have registered specifically for Round 3.
All candidates participating in Round 3 must submit fresh preferences, as any previously submitted choices will be treated as null and void.
Candidates Not Eligible for Round 3: 1. Candidates who were allotted seats in Round 1 or Round 2 under State Quota and have filled the Status Retention Form.
Important Note: Candidates who are allotted a seat in Round 3 must join the allotted institute, as they will not be eligible to participate in any further rounds of the State Counseling Process.
Subsequent Round(s): After Round 3, subsequent Online Stray Vacancy Round(s) will be conducted if seat(s) remain vacant. (Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round Process)
Available Seats for Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s): Seats not allotted during Round 3. Seats vacant due to non-joining of candidate(s) allotted in Round3.
Eligible Candidates: Candidate who has registered & filled online preference form previously in Round 3 of State Quota Counseling but not been allotted a seat till Round 3.
Candidates not eligible: Candidates who have joined seat in Round1, Round2 and/or allotted a seat in Round 3. Candidates who have joined seat in Round1, Round2 and/or allotted seat in Round 3 of All India Quota seats of MBBS & BDS courses.
Note –
No new registration will be done for this Round.
Candidate will have to fill fresh choices for CAP online stray vacancy round. Round 3 choices will be considered as null & void.
Allotment of seat will be done Online by running software.
For Unaided Private institutions, seats remaining vacant after Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s) will be filled by Institutional level Stray Vacancy Round.
Institutional Stray Vacancy Round Process (for Unaided Private / Minority institutions): For Unaided Private institutions, seats remaining vacant after Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s) for BPTH/BOTH/ BASLP and BP&O courses will be filled by the respective institute through Institutional Level Stray Vacancy Round(s). For 15% Institutional Quota of Courses other than MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS & BUMS, all seats are filled by the respective Institute.
