Our institution had started with bachelor of physiotherapy (BPT) course affiliated under Calicut university in1999 and later in the year 2005 the affiliation was shifted to the Kannur university. In the year 2008 more courses in the paramedical stream like BSC.MLT, BSC.MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY, BSC.MEDICAL BIOCHEMISTRY were added to the course list. In the year 2010, post-graduationprogram in physiotherapy (M.P.T.) with 3 specialization was sanctioned by Kannur university. Admission Bachelor of Physiotherapy [B.P.T] ( 4 years) Government Seat in Government Colleges, Government Controlled Self Financing Colleges, and Private Self Financing Colleges

LBS Centre (LBS Centre for Science and Technology ( LBSCS &T), Thiruvananthapuram) will conduct Centralized Admission and Seat Allotment Process for Professional Degree Courses in Nursing and Para Medical Streams together under the guidelines of the Government of Kerala Director of Medical Education, Thiruvananthapuram. Categorization of Seats:-

  • Government seats: Merit Seats against which the Director, LBS Centre makes allotment is called ‘Government Seats’

(a) Government seats are available in all Government Colleges, Government Controlled Self Financing Colleges, and Private Self Financing Colleges that are willing to share 50% of their seats with the Government.

(b) Candidates who seek admission in Private Self-financing Colleges are bound to accept the conditions stipulated in the agreement between Government and Self Financing College Management(s) and deemed to have accepted such conditions

(c) In the case of self-financing Colleges run by institutions having minority status granted by the Government of the National Minorities Commission, 20% of the Government seats shall be filled up from among the candidates belonging to the minority community running the college, on the basis of merit. In case, sufficient candidates are not available from the concerned community, the balance seats will be filled up from State Merit as per the usual norms

  • Management seats: Seats other than ‘Government seats’ filled up by management as per interest merit Changes can be made only with Government approval.

RESERVATION OF SEATS:-

Mandatory Reservation The remaining Govt. seats will be distributed as per the mandatory reservation principle as contemplated in G.O. (P) 208/66/Edn. Dated 2.5.1966, G.O. CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:-

Nativity: Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission to professional courses unless otherwise notified. Holders of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cards/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), will also be treated at par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission. However, PIO/OCI candidates will not be eligible for any kind of reservation.

Candidates seeking admission to the courses will be categorized as ‘Keralite’, NonKeralite category I(NK-I), and Non-Keralite category II (NK-II).

  • Keralite: A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to the Kerala cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’.But they will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation.
  • Non-Keralite Category I(NK I): A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfills anyone of the following conditions will be categorized as 'Non-Keralite Category I'(NK I).
  1. A candidate who has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and who is a son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belongs to the Government of India/Defense Service posted to Kerala.
  2. A candidate who has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and who is a son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who is serving/served the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years.
  3. A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5(five) years within the period of 12(twelve) years of his/her study.
  4. A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII.
    Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
  • Non-Keralite Category II [NK II]-Candidates who do not come under ‘Keralite’ or 'Non-Keralite Category I' will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralite Category II'. They will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/ Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

Academic Eligibility:

B.Sc. Perfusion Technology, B.C.V.T.& B.P.T Courses: Should have passed Higher Secondary examination conducted by Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or an examination equivalent thereto as approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur.

Should have separate minimum pass marks for Physics Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in Biology separately and should have 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.

HOW TO APPLY:-

Application for admission to all the courses - B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (M.L.T), B.Sc. Perfusion Technology, B.Sc.(Optometry), B.P.T., B.C.V.T., B.A.S.L.P, B.Sc MRT, B.Sc. Dialysis Technology , BOT (Bachelor of Medical Imaging Technology, Bachelor of Radio Therapy Technology Bachelor of Neuro Technology. subject to the approval of the Government /KUHS :-) can be registered only online through a single application. The provision for applying online is available at the website www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in. Submission of more than one application by a candidate will lead to rejection of the candidature.

The application fee will be as follows:

For SC/ST candidates : Rs. 400/-
For Service Candidates : Rs. 800/-

Submission of Application Form :

Candidate has to visit the website www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in and under ‘VARIOUS ALLOTMENTS’ click the link “Admission to Professional Degree Courses in Nursing and Para Medical Streams”

Step 1: Registration:-Candidate should click the button “NEW CANDIDATE”. The personal details of the candidates have to be filled in the page thus obtained.
Step 2:Fee payment:-At this step, the candidate has to make the payment of the application fee by way of Online Payment or by way of challan
Step 3: Application Entry:- A registration ID will be provided to the candidate. Candidate should note this Registration Id and password which are required for future login. Candidates should keep them confidential. The candidate should fill all the remaining items in the application entry-stage including academic data. The facility to upload the corresponding certificate/document in respect of claims if any will be available against each entry in the application. The Candidate shall click the corresponding button and upload the files
Step 4: Final Confirmation and Print Application After completing step 3, the candidate can preview the application before confirmation and submission. After Preview the candidate has to accept the declaration and make the final submission. The facility to accept the declaration (Tick box) will be enabled only if all the mandatory fields are filled and the uploading of supporting documents and images are completed. The candidate should then take a printout of the Application for future references.

Certificates to be uploaded with the online Application

  • Scanned copy of the relevant page of the SSLC or equivalent Certificate to prove date of birth.
  • Scanned copy of Certificate in proof of nativity
  • Scanned copy of the mark list(s) of Qualifying Examination.
  • Scanned copy of Certificates in support of any claim for special reservation, if applicable.
  • Scanned copy of Income certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable.

Managements Seat for Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Course 4 ½ - years degree program & Master of Physiotherapy (MPT Course) 2 years Post Graduate Degree Programme in Self-Financing Physiotherapy Colleges Management Association (SPCMA)

The SELF-FINANCING PHYSIOTHERAPY COLLEGES MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (SPCMA) will do a separate selection procedure for admission of candidates in the Management Quota to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Course 4 ½ - years degree program & Master of Physiotherapy (MPT Course) 2 years Post Graduate Degree Programme course as per the direction of the Honorable Supreme Court of India in its judgments dated31st October 2002, dated 14th August 2003 and 4th January 2007.

Eligibility for Admission:-

BPT PROGRAMME:-

(i) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, as approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences Thrissur.

ii) Should have passed Higher Secondary examination conducted by Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or an examination equivalent thereto as approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. Should have separate minimum pass marks for Physics Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in Biology separately and should have 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.

(iii) Students applying for admission to the B.P.T course should have studied English as a subject at Higher Secondary level.

MPT PROGRAMME:- Candidates who passed the Bachelor of Physiotherapy examination from any recognized Universities and approved by KUHS and completed/completing 6 months of internship

Age:

(i) Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on the 31st of December. No relaxation of the minimum age will be allowed.

(ii) Self-attested copy of the relevant page of school record namely SSLC/ICSE/CBSE/ certificate showing the date of birth/copy of birth certificate should be produced at the time of admission

MPT :

(i) Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on the 31st of December. No relaxation of the minimum age will be allowed.

(ii) Self-attested copy of the relevant page of school record namely SSLC/ICSE/CBSE/ certificate showing the date of birth / copy of birth certificate should be produced at the time of admission and self-attested copies of BPT degree certificates and internship completion certificates.

Admission quota & general conditions.

• Selection of students shall be made on the basis of norms prescribed by Govt. of Kerala/ Kerala University of Health Sciences from time to time.

• 50% of the total seats of the Colleges will be offered to the Government to be filled from the list prepared by the LBS Centre for Science & Technology, As merit seats in accordance with merit and reservation principles followed by Government from time to time. In case Government decides not to take up Merit Seats allotment, the same will be allotted as Management seats by the College management.

• Member Colleges having minority institution status approved by the Government or the National Minorities Commission,20% seats out of the above 50% merit seats will be filled by the Government from the list prepared by the LBS Centre for Science & Technology from the students belonging to the community, which established the member College, based on their inter-se merit. In case sufficient numbers of such candidates are not available, the balance seats will be allotted as per usual norms.

• 35% of the total seats shall be filled up from among the candidates who are eligible as per the Prospectus for the course published by the Director of Medical Education based on the applications received against notification by College Management directly and in accordance with merit in the qualifying examination.

• 15% of total seats of the Colleges shall be filled up by eligible students who are children/dependents of Non-resident Indians.

• Levying amount towards liquidated damages from candidates discontinuing their studies shall be as in the related clause of prospectus 2020 issued by the Director of Medical Education, Trivandrum and as per the final decision of the ASC/Court of Law.

Preparation of Merit List:-

Merit list:

(a) 35% of seats will be filled by management from among the applications received by the SPCMA on the basis of merit list prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination in the core subjects as mentioned in the eligibility criteria.

(b) 15% of seats will be filled from among the applications received from NRI students fulfilling the eligibility criteria on the basis of the merit list prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination in the core subjects as mentioned in the eligibility criteria. as also fulfilling the eligibility norms of the NRI quota notified by the State Govt.

Selection by Centralised Allotment Process (CAP):-

The Centralized Allotment Process for Management Seats in Self-financing Physiotherapy Colleges for which the allotment is made through a Single Window System (SWS). The allotment to various colleges for Bachelor of Physiotherapy/Master of Physiotherapy will be done by SWS under the supervision of the Admission Supervisory Committee (ASC). The allotments will be strictly based on the options exercised by the candidate, and the rank lists prepared and published on the website based on the marks secured by the candidate for the seats.

Community Quota: The selection of candidates by the management of the minority communities will be based on the specific directive of the Honorable Supreme Court. All rights of a claim for eligibility relaxation or community claim shall be sustained with the required documents at the time of admission.
