65% of total seats in Non-Minority Institutions and 50% of total seats in Minority Institutions, subject to the Policy of the State Government and the court orders in this regard for each Para Medical Course in Self Financing institutions surrendered to Government Quota will be filled as per merit following the rule of reservation in force.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BPT:

The candidate should be a citizen of India.

AGE LIMIT: Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2023

NATIVITY: Candidates should be Natives of Tamil Nadu (The candidates, who claim their Nativity as Tamil Nadu should submit their nativity certificate issued by the competent Revenue authority of the Government of Tamil Nadu.)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying Examination of the Higher Secondary Course conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other Equivalent Board in the following group of subjects with minimum eligible marks.

• English as one of the subject
• Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject. (or)
• Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY MARKS:

Normalization of Marks:

As per the Tamil Nadu Act No 3 of 2007, dt 05.03.2007 and G.O(Ms) No.77 HE(J2) Dept.dt:05.04.2007, the marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board (Government of Tamil Nadu) by adopting the method of normalization. Under the method of normalization, the highest mark obtained by the students of various Boards in each subject will be equated to the highest mark obtained by the students of State Board in that subject and the relative marks obtained by other students in that subject will be determined accordingly.

MERIT LIST.:-

CALCULATION OF MARKS:- Merit List will be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. The marks obtained through different Boards will be taken into account after normalization

ONLINE COUNSELLING PROCEDURE (SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM) FOR BPT:

1. Online Counseling Schedule will be available only on the website. Candidates should lock their choices of Colleges and Courses as per the schedule
2. The processing fee of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty Only) should be paid through online mode via bank payment portal to participate in the online counselling
3. At the time of choice filling, candidates can choose any number of eligible Courses and Colleges and the allotment will be made based on their choices following merit and rule of reservation.

REPORTING ;-

• The allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the allotted Medical College/Institution in person before the date and time specified in the allotment order along with the Originals and copies of the Certificates.
• The candidates who have joined in the course during 1st phase of counseling only, are eligible to attend the subsequent phases of counseling for re-allotment. The date of such counselling will be published in the websites and also will be informed to the Dean/The Principal of respective Colleges. No individual intimation will be sent to the candidates
• The vacancies arising after the first round of counseling and also addition of seats if any due to approval/permission of new colleges will be filled up through subsequent online counseling if necessary.
• No Re-allotment for any course within Self-financing colleges
• Individual request for transfer of course and college will not be entertained.
• Mutual transfer will not be entertained.

METHOD OF SELECTION & ADMISSION:- The selection will be made based on merit and applying the rule of reservation by the Government of Tamil Nadu as follows.

ADMISSION TO MASTER OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (MPT) Colleges affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MPT:

1. Candidate should be citizen of India.
2. Candidates who are claiming Nativity of Tamil Nadu should upload their certificate of Nativity of Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority of the revenue Department of Tamil Nadu with official seal.
3. Candidates should possess a B.P.T. Degree awarded by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University or any other University recognized as Equivalent thereto by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University / Physiotherapy Council. Candidates who have qualified from other Universities should submit the Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai-32 at the time of admission.
4. Candidates should have obtained not less than 50% of the total marks obtained in all semesters taken together in the B.P.T. Degree course. In case of failure (s) the pass marks in the subsequent attempt(s) shall be taken for calculation purpose. Number of attempts is not considered for calculation of marks.
5. A candidate who have already completed or acquired a Postgraduate Degree in any Branch in M.P.T. course or is undergoing M.P.T. Course in any Branch are ineligible to apply for any other specialty in M.P.T course.

PROCEDURE FOR FILLING THE APPLICATION FOR MPT:

1. Candidates should upload the necessary enclosures while submitting the online application.
2. Recent passport size photograph to be uploaded in the application form.
3. The candidates should fill the online Application form carefully.
4. A candidate should submit only ONE online application form.
5. The Government Orders issued and to be issued from time to time pertaining to any of the matters contained in the prospectus should be read as part and parcel of this prospectus and such terms and conditions in the Government Order are deemed to have been incorporated in this prospectus.
6. Service candidates should upload their application along with the service particulars with the remarks of the forwarding authority duly signed with seal and date as prescribed in the application form. The Online Applications of the Service candidates who have completed two years of continuous, regular service as on xx.xx.2023 excluding eligible leave alone will be considered. The Head of the Directorates have to issue a Certificate of completion of the required service.
13. Candidates must upload the following documents along with the application.
i) B.P.T. course completion Certificate.
ii) B.P.T. Degree Certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate.
iii) First year / Semester to Final year/Semester B.P.T., Mark sheets.
iv) Valid Community Certificate issued by the competent authority of Revenue Department of Tamil Nadu with Office Seal and date.
v) Eligibility certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University for candidates who have qualified B.P.T., degree course from other Universities.
vi) Attempt Certificate in Final Year B.P.T., course.
vii) Nativity certificate (if applicable) with supportive Document.
viii)Copy of posting order (For service candidates).

Candidates are instructed to produce the above mentioned original Certificates/ Documents at the time of admission for certificate verification.

Seats Reservation for MPT:

Within the 30% reservation for Backward Classes 3.5% reservation will be provided for Muslims. And 16% of seats out of 18% Quota earmarked to Scheduled Caste shall be allocated to the Arunthathiyar Community.

50% of seats will be made available for service candidates and the other 50% of seats are for Open Quota to be filled on the basis of rank from Service and Non–Service candidates put together. In case of an odd number of vacancy, among the seats, that vacant seat shall be filled up by consideration of rank and communal reservation.
