The KMCH College of Physiotherapy is one of the pioneers in Physiotherapy education since 1994, offering Undergraduate and speciality post graduate programs. The college is affiliated with Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. and approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Indian Association of Physiotherapists. The college is attached to KMCH - A 1300 bed Multi Disciplinary Super Speciality Hospital with the advanced clinical setup. The department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation equipped with modern labs for exercise therapy, electro therapy, walking school and prosthetic & Orthotic work shop for providing training in cardio-pulmonary rehab, sports pathology, gait training, burns care and fitness. The institute offers comprehensive facilities for holistic training in physical therapy. The college has meticulously designed all pre-clinical and therapeutic laboratories like Anatomy, Physiology, Electrotherapy, and Exercise Therapy laboratories for the students to have pre-clinical practice. Well-equipped computer lab at KMCH Colleges is to provide our students with assistance that enhances their possibilities of succeeding in their assignments. Eligibility: To be eligible, the candidate must be an Indian citizen and a native of Tamil Nadu, with a valid Nativity Certificate issued by the Tamil Nadu Government (Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted), and it must be submitted along with the application. Candidates who studied from 6th to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu must submit both Nativity and Community Certificates; if Community Certificate is not provided, they will be considered under the Open Category. Native Tamil Nadu candidates who studied partly or fully outside Tamil Nadu must upload Nativity and Community Certificates (candidate and parent/guardian) issued by Tamil Nadu authorities, otherwise their application will be rejected. Non-native candidates who studied 6th to 12th in Tamil Nadu will be treated as Open Category and must submit Bonafide Certificates from their schools. Community Certificates issued by other States will not be accepted for reservation, and candidates must be 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2025, with up to a 15-day grace period allowed.
METHOD OF SELECTION & ADMISSION: Selection of candidates will be based on merit and implemented according to the reservation policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu as follows:
BPT: Candidates must have passed all subjects in the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any equivalent recognized board, with English as a compulsory subject. They should have studied either Physics, Chemistry and Biology, or Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, and must have secured the minimum required marks as prescribed.
PROCEDURE FOR FILLING AND SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION: Candidates must apply online through the official website www.tnmedicalselection.org, by paying an application fee of Rs. 500/- through the bank portal, filling all mandatory details correctly, and uploading the required certificates, as no changes will be allowed after submission and only one application will be accepted even if multiple are submitted. Applicants must upload the following documents while filling the form: Class X mark sheet, HSC or equivalent examination mark sheets (both sides), Transfer Certificate, Nativity Certificate, Community Certificate, proof of study from 6th to 12th standard (if studied in Tamil Nadu), First Graduate Certificate (if applicable), Parent’s Community Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Revenue Authority, and relevant certificates for those applying under special category in the prescribed format.
Note: Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates must upload their valid Community Certificate issued by a competent authority not below the rank of Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). If the certificate is not uploaded, the candidate will be considered under the Open Category. Submission or production of fake Community, Nativity, or any other certificate at any stage will lead to cancellation of admission, removal from the course, and legal action against both the candidate and their parents. Due to increasing cases of fake community certificates, the authenticity of the submitted certificate will be verified by the concerned authority before the completion of the 1st year. The candidate and parents must ensure this verification is completed; otherwise, the candidate will not be permitted to continue into the 2nd year. All required certificates should be uploaded in the prescribed format at the time of online application. Community Certificates issued by other States will not be accepted, and such candidates will be treated as Open Category applicants.
Merit List – Calculation of Marks: The merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by eligible candidates in the prescribed subjects of the qualifying examination, scaled down to a total of 200 marks. Marks from different boards will be considered after normalization. Candidate ranking will be done based on the total normalized score computed out of 200 marks.
Note: Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics will have their marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology considered for the general merit list, while those who studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics along with other subjects (excluding Biology, Botany, and Zoology) will have their Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics marks considered only for B. Pharmacy, B.ASLP, and B.Optom merit lists. If two or more candidates secure the same total marks out of 200, their rank will be decided based on the following order: higher percentage in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together, followed by Chemistry percentage, Physics percentage, fourth optional subject percentage, seniority in age, and finally, a higher assigned computerized random number. The merit list will be published on the official website www.tnmedicalselection.org, and candidates will be allowed to participate in online counselling as per their merit rank and course eligibility.
ONLINE COUNSELLING PROCEDURE (SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM): Online counselling for admissions will follow the Single Window System, and the counselling schedule will be published only on the official website. Candidates must log in and lock their preferred colleges and courses within the given timeline. Admission to Paramedical Degree courses will be carried out through counselling based on the merit list and applicable reservation rules.
Counselling for special categories such as Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Disabilities will be conducted before the General Category, and no re-allotment or change of college will be permitted for these candidates. To participate in online counselling, candidates must pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 250 through the bank payment portal. During the choice-filling process, candidates may select any number of eligible courses and colleges, and allotment will be made based on their preferences, merit position, and applicable reservation rules.
Reporting: Allotted candidates must download their provisional allotment order and report in person to the allotted Medical College or Institution within the specified date and time, carrying original certificates along with photocopies. Candidates who applied but were not allotted seats or did not participate in the first round can attend subsequent counselling rounds, while only those who joined a course in the first phase will be eligible for re-allotment in later phases, which will be announced on the official website without individual notification. Movement from one category to another (such as from self-financing to government colleges or between government colleges) will be based strictly on merit and reservation rules, and any vacancies or newly approved seats after the first round will be filled through further online counselling if required. No re-allotment will be permitted within self-financing colleges, and requests for individual transfers or mutual transfers between colleges or courses will not be entertained under any circumstances.

(ii) GOVERNMENT QUOTA SEATS IN SELF-FINANCING COLLEGES 65% of total seats in Non-Minority Institution and 50% of total seats in Minority Institution, subject to the Policy of the State Government and the court orders in this regard for each Paramedical Course in Self-Financing institutions surrendered to Government Quota will be filled as per merit following the rule of reservation in force. The actual number of seats offered by the Self - Financing Institutions will be displayed at the time of Counselling.
Fee Details and Instructions:
GOVERNMENT COLLEGES: The annual tuition fee for all courses offered in Government Colleges is Rs. 3,000/-. Candidates selected under the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category are fully exempted from paying both the Tuition Fee and Special Fee.

Any change in the fee structure for the academic year 2025–2026 will be decided by the Fee Fixation Committee, and the updated details will be informed during or after counselling. For detailed information related to scholarships, fee concessions, hostel facilities, and other applicable benefits, candidates may contact the Head of the respective Government Institution where they are admitted.
Students belonging to SC, SCA, and ST communities, as well as Scheduled Caste Converted Christian students, whose parents’ or guardians’ annual income is less than Rs. 2,50,000/-, are exempted from paying all compulsory and non-refundable fees, including admission-related fees, tuition fees, and other mandatory institutional or university charges, which will instead be claimed by the institution under the Government of India Scholarship Scheme. Candidates who have completed their qualifying examination from other universities or boards must submit an Eligibility Certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University; failure to submit this will result in cancellation of admission, as provisional admission does not guarantee continuation of the course. All selected candidates must produce original certificates at the time of admission, failing which their selection will be cancelled, and must undergo a medical fitness examination conducted by the allotted college; only medically fit candidates will be allowed to continue and pay fees. Candidates and their parents/guardians must also sign the required declaration forms (Annexure VI, VII, and VIII), and refusal to sign will lead to cancellation of selection. No admission will be allowed after the university-prescribed cut-off date, and all admissions are purely provisional, subject to cancellation at any stage if eligibility criteria are not met, or if any information is found to be false or misrepresented. Candidates applying for the M.P.T. course for the 2025–2026 session under Government Medical Colleges and Government Quota seats in self-financing colleges affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University must submit their application online through www.tnmedicalselection.net, and the filled application form must be submitted on or before 5:00 PM on 31.08.2025, beyond which no submissions will be accepted. A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1000/- must be paid only through the online payment portal using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, RTGS, or UPI, and applicants are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute issues; deduction of the amount from the bank account alone cannot be considered as proof of successful payment. Service candidates must upload duly certified service particulars along with their online application, and incomplete applications or those with missing documents will be rejected.
Eligibility & Required Documents: Candidates must be Indian citizens and those claiming Tamil Nadu nativity or community reservation must upload a valid Nativity and Community Certificate issued by the Tamil Nadu Revenue Department. Applicants who studied from Class 11 onward and completed BPT in Tamil Nadu must also submit a Nativity Certificate, and late submissions will not be accepted. Along with this, candidates must upload their Aadhaar card and any one supporting ID proof such as Driving Licence, Voter ID, Passport, or Parent’s Aadhaar and School Certificate; otherwise, the application will be rejected. Applicants must possess a BPT Degree awarded by Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University or its equivalent; candidates from other universities must produce an Eligibility Certificate at admission. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in BPT (considering subsequent pass marks, excluding attempts) and completion of internship on or before 31.08.2025 are required. Candidates who have completed or are pursuing any MPT specialty are not eligible. Service candidates include those serving in Tamil Nadu Government Medical Service or local bodies with at least two years of service as on 31.03.2025, while those working in Central Government institutions, PSU, temporary medical services, or private sector will be considered under the non-service (open quota).
Procedure for Filling and Submitting the Application: Candidates must upload all required documents while submitting the online application, including a recent passport-size photograph. SC / SCA / ST candidates of Tamil Nadu nativity are exempted from paying the application fee. Applicants should carefully complete the online form and are permitted to submit only one application. All relevant Government Orders, whether already issued or issued in the future, will automatically form part of this prospectus and must be considered accordingly.
Service candidates should upload their application along with certified service particulars signed by the forwarding authority with seal and date, as per the instructions in the online form. Only those who have completed two years of continuous, regular service (excluding availed leave) as on 31.03.2025 will be considered, and a service completion certificate must be issued by the respective Directorate.

It should be the responsibility of the candidate to give the correct mailing address on the main application form. If there is any change of address it should be intimated immediately to the Selection Committee in writing.
Rank List: A common Rank List for the M.P.T. course will be prepared for a total of 100 marks, with 90 marks allotted for academic performance and 10 marks allotted for professional experience.
COUNSELLING PROCEDURE
If the seats are 8 and more, the rule of reservation shall be as follows: -
Within the 30% reservation for Backward Classes 3.5% reservation will be provided for Muslims.
16% of seats out of 18% Quota earmarked to Scheduled Caste shall be allocated to the Arunthathiyar Community.
50% of seats will be made available for service candidates and the other 50% of seats are for Open Quota to be filled on the basis of rank from Service and Non–Service candidates put together. In case of an odd number of vacancy, among the seats, that vacant seat shall be filled up by consideration of rank and communal reservation.
METHOD OF SELECTION & ADMISSION: Selection and admission to Government quota seats in Self-Financing and Government-Aided institutions will be carried out as per the applicable Central and State laws, rules, and regulations. The seat matrix for these institutions will be published during the counselling process. Service candidates opting for seats in self-financing institutions will not be eligible for salary during the study period and must apply for leave through proper channel with prior approval from their respective Head of Department. The stipend, fee structure, bond conditions, and any other applicable rules will be governed by the policies of the respective institution.
