AGE

The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years completed and should not be more than 25 years as on 31st December, 2023. Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in the case of SC & ST Candidates.

Candidates claiming reservations under SC/ST/BC categories shall submit a permanent social statuscertificate issued by the competentauthority of Government of Telangana/Andhra Pradeshas per the format prescribed at Annexure V.
There shall be 5% reservation for the differently-abled (Physically Handicapped-PH) with loco-motor disability of 50-70% confined to lower limbs.The candidates shall be selected on horizontal basis among general and reserved categories. The Medical Board constituted by the NIMS will examine these candidates and scrutinize their claim for reservation under PH for confirmation of eligibility
BC-E reservation: There shall be 4% reservation under BC-E as per memo No.19392/A2/2007 dated 29-11-2007. The BC-E certificate based on G.O.Ms.No.23, Backward Classes Welfare (C2), dated 7th July, 2007 should be obtained from Mandal Revenue Officer/Tahsildar on or after 7th July, 2007. Admission under BC-E category is subject to condition of further orders issued either by Government of TelanganaState or Hon’bleHigh Court for the State of Telangana/Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
BC-E reservation: There shall be 4% reservation under BC-E as per memo No.19392/A2/2007 dated 29-11-2007. The BC-E certificate based on G.O.Ms.No.23, Backward Classes Welfare (C2), dated 7th July, 2007 should be obtained from Mandal Revenue Officer/ Tahsildar on or after 7th July, 2007. Admission under BC-E category is subject to condition of further orders issued either by Government of Telangana State or Hon’ble High Court for the State of Telangana/Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
NOTE:
The seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes shall be made available to Scheduled Castes and Vice-versa, if qualified candidates are not available in the category. If qualified candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Communities are not available the left over seats reserved for them shall be treated as unreserved seats and shall be filled by the qualified candidates of General Pool.
If qualified candidates belonging to backward class of a particular group are not available, the leftover seats shall be adjusted for the candidates of next group. If qualified candidates belonging to backward classes are not available to fill up the seats reserved for them, the left over seats shall be treated as unreserved and shall be filled up with qualified candidates of General pool.
If qualified candidates belonging to differently abled (physically handicapped) are not available, the leftover seat/seats shall be treated as unreserved and shall be filled up with qualifiedcandidates of General pool.
Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs): There shall be 10% reservation provided for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs)over and above the annually permitted number of seats.
Persons who are not covered under the scheme of reservations for SCs, STs and BCs and whose family has gross annual income below Rs.8.00 lakhs (Rupees eight lakhsonly) are to be identified as EWSs for the benefit of reservation. Income shall also include income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business profession etc. for the financial year prior to the year of application.

Also persons whose family own or possesses any of the following assets shall be excluded from being identified as EWSs, irrespective of the family income:

  1. 5 acres of Agricultural Land and above
  2. Residential flat of1000 sq.ft and above
  3. Residential plot of100 sq.yards and above in notified municipalities
  4. Residential plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities.
The property held by a “Family” in different locations or different places/cities would be clubbed while applying land or property holding test to determine EWS status. The term “Family” for this purpose will include the person who seeks benefit of reservation. His/her parents and siblings below the age of 18 years as also his/her spouse and children below the age of 18 year

The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a competent authority. The income and asset certificate issued by any one of the following authorities shall only be accepted as proof of candidate’s claim as belonging to EWS

  1. District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Mandal Revenue Officer.
  2. Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar and
  3. Sub-Divisional Officerof the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
Local Area Reservations
  • Admissions to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates of Telangana State in relationto local area as providedin Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 and subsequent amendments
  • The Non local candidates are eligible for 15% unreserved seats only. The local candidates of Telangana State are also eligible for 15% unreserved seats along with85% seats reservedfor local area.
  • The categories of the candidates eligible to apply for admission to the 15% of un- reserved seats shall be considered as per rules and regulations laid down in GOP No.646 dated 10th July 1979 followedby Presidential order 1974.
Local Area The part of the State comprising the districts of Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Hyderabad, Jagtial, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jogulamba Gadwal,Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Kumarambheem Asifabad, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, Mancherial, Medak, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, Warangal , Hanamkonda, Mulugu, Narayanpet and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission
Local Candidates A candidate for admission shall be regarded as local candidate in relation to a local area:
If he/she studied in an Educational Institution or Educational Institutions in such local area for a period of not less than 4 consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared in relevant qualifying examination.
The applicant who claims to be local candidate shall produce study certificate/s issued by the Head of the Educational Institution/s concerned indicating the details of the year/s in which the candidate has studied in educational institution in such local area for a period of the less than 4/7 consecutive years as the case may be ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared
The status for local and non-local candidate will be decided as per the rules and regulations laid down in GOP No.646 dated 10th July, 1979 followed by Presidential Order, 1974

The Online Application Registration, Notification and instructions to fill the application      is     available     at     NIMS     website      : www.nims.edu.in.   (or) https://www.nimsts.edu.in/Recruitment/hr/pisrecruitment/RecruitmentApplicantDesk Action.cnt from 11.00 AM on 08/06/2023 till 5.00 PM of 28/06/2023 and last date for submission of hard copyof online application is 03/07/2023.

NOTE: The candidates are advised to read carefully the prospectus/ instructions before proceeding to fill the application form in NIMS website: www.nims.edu.in 

Incomplete onlineand hand-written application forms are liable to be rejected.
The registration and processing fee Rs.2,500/- (Bank Transaction charges extra) for OC and BC candidates and Rs.2,000/- (Bank Transaction charges extra) for SC/ST candidates should be remitted through payment gateway using a Credit Card or Debit Card issued by the banks in India or through Internet banking. Application fee is not refundable even if the application is summarily rejected.
The hard copy duly signed of the online application by the candidate shall be submitted in person or by Indian post to The Associate Dean, Academic-2, 2nd floor, Old OPD Block, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad 500 082 on or before 5.00 PM of 03/07/2023 along with all the documents mentioned in the Annexure-I
The online application will not be considered without submission of hard copy of the same (onlineapplication) along with the requireddocuments/certificates as prescribed
The applications received after the prescribed date and time shall not be considered. The Institute will not be responsible for non-receipt of application ordelay in postaltransit.
An acknowledgement will be sent to the respective candidate by SMS / e-mail or to the login account after receipt of the hard copy of application. Those who have not received acknowledgement of the application shall contact in the office of Associate Dean, Academic 2 Section (Phone No.040-23489189) within one week from the date of submission of hard copy of application. No further correspondence shall be entertained in this matter after prescribed period.
The applications of in-service candidates should be forwarded by the appointing authority. The in-service candidates are required to submit Service Certificate and No Objection Certificate in original from the Appointing Authority at the time of submission of application. All candidates who are employeesof the State of Telanganaand Central Government under takings, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi-public Institutions should submit hard copy of the applications along with No Objection Certificate from the appointing authority. The selected candidates should submit relieving order along with original certificates at the time of admission
Any candidate of reserved category, if at all, failed to submit the certificate of social status along with application, his/her candidature will be assumed as Open Category (OC).

Method of Selection

The selection shall be based on the merit taking into consideration of the rank obtained in Telangana State EAMCET-2023. In case of tie, percentage of marks obtained in Intermediate or its equivalent examination shall be taken into account to decide the relative ranking. On further tie, age shall be taken into consideration, the candidate elder inage being given priority.
The statutory reservation rules as prescribed and GOP No. 646 dated 10th July,1979 for local/non-local area reservations will be followed during counselling.
The merit list of the eligible candidates will be displayedat NIMS website: www.nims.edu.in on the dates notified in prospectus. No individual correspondence will be made in this regard
Counselling Process: Candidates have to report for counselling in person on the specified date and time with all original certificates as prescribed at Annexure III. The candidates shall not be permitted to attend counselling without original certificates/custodian certificate. No proxy/representative is permitted under any circumstances into the counselling hall. They should sign in the attendance register within the stipulated time, failing which the candidate shall not be permitted to attend the counselling. Further he/she forfeits the right to admission and the seat shall be offered to the next candidate in the merit list. No request for postponing the date of counselling or appearance at an earlier date shall be entertained
Counselling Fee: The candidates recommended for provisional admission are required to pay an amount of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only ) towards counselling fee immediately. This amount will be adjusted against the prescribed fee to be paid, with the remaining balance collected at the time of admission. The counselling fee will be refunded to the candidates who are found to be ‘medically unfit’ at the time of admission, after deducting medical examination fee of Rs.4,050/- (Rupees four thousand and fifty only). In case the candidate does not, for any reason, report for admission within the specified period, the counselling fee will be forfeited

Income Certificate: Candidates belonging to SC/ST category with income of either parent/guardian being less than Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One lakh only) per annum, who are eligible for scholarship from the State Government, are not required to pay tuition fee at the time of admission. However, the candidate is required to submit the following :

  1. Undertaking/bond (on non-judicial stampedpaper of Rs.100/-)as per format prescribed at Annexure IV, that they shall pay the prescribed fee for their respective courses before completion of each year (I/II/III and IV years), if they fail to get sanction of scholarship from the respective government departments.
  2. Latest income certificate (mandatory) in original of either “parent/guardian”, issued by an officer not below the rank of Tahsildar/Mandal Revenue Officer, at the time of counselling for the academic year 2023 failing which the candidate shall be required to pay the fee as prescribed
  3. Fee towards other heads ,amounting to Rs.6,500/- (Rupees six thousand five hundred only)shall be paid at the time of counselling.
For in-service candidates who are pursuing studies and who cannot deposit the original certificates at the time of counselling have to bring Xerox copies of the original certificates/custodian certificate duly attested by the controlling authorities of the institution. They shall also produce a certificate from the institution that they have no objection to the candidate’s admission to the BPT course and in the event of selection of the candidate to the course he/she shall be relieved immediately. Failure to submit the original certificates shall render the candidate ineligible for admission
Admission Process :
The selected candidates shall join the course by the prescribed date. In case the selected candidate does not report by the date, the next candidate in the order of merit will be selected in his/her place and no extension time will be entertained
Candidates who are selected for admission have to submit the Original Certificates at the time of admission and undergo medical examination. After the medical fitness* is cleared, the prescribed fee has to be paid by the candidate. Failure to submit the required certificates or the payment of above fee shall render the candidate forfeit the seat and such seat shall be allotted to the next candidatein the merit list. The ‘medical fitness’ will be decided by the Medical Board appointed by the NIMS and the decision of the Board shall be final. This is treated as completion of the admission process

Discontinuation of the Course If any candidate discontinues the course at any time or is relieved on his/her request for any reason, the fee paid will not be refunded. In addition,he/she shall have to paya penalty as indicated below:

  1. A candidate who discontinues the course after completion of admission process shall have to pay a penalty of Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only). This is applicable to all candidates irrespective of their category. In case of discontinuation of the course during Compulsory Internship period, the candidate has to remit the stipend if any received till such period in addition to the penalty amount mentioned.
  2. After closure of admission and before completion of compulsory Internship, a candidate can seek his/her original certificates after depositing Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) or submitting a bank guarantee towards an equivalent amount which will be refunded or returned after returning the certificates.
  3. Candidates are permitted to discontinue the course under the following conditions without any penalty
  4. Illness certified by the Medical Board of the NIMS.
  5. Failing in three attempts in any subject of any examinations conducted by the Institute
Disqualification - Any attempt on the part of the candidate to influence directly orindirectly during counselling/admission by any means will be treated as disqualification
All the candidates joining the course shall execute a bond in the prescribed form on a non-judicial stampedpaper of Rs.100/-value along with two sureties(parents/Guardian) to ensure completion of the prescribed period of course or in default to pay the bond amount and shall also have to refund the amount if any received as stipend up to that date to NIMS. The format of the bond to be executed may be seen in Annexure II. The candidates who discontinue the course under this clause shall not be considered for any other course on the basis of merit during the same academic year. The course imparted prior to discontinuation shall not be counted for any other purposes. In the case of in-service candidates they have to execute a bond to satisfy the study leave rules of NIMS.
In all matters relating to selections and admissions, the decision of the Institute shall be final and binding on the candidates and selection cannot be questioned after admissions are closed
No individual correspondence will be made for selection/admission. Candidates are requested to follow the instructions/information stated in prospectus and at website: www.nims.edu.in as per the scheduled programme mentioned in prospectus. The candidates are required to visit website regularly.
Institute is not responsible for any unforeseen events preventing the candidate from reaching for counselling and the candidate will be considered absent under such circumstance
After Admission
Joining into Course - The selectedcandidate shall join the course by the date prescribed. In case the selected candidatedoes not report by the date, the next candidate in the order of merit will be selected in his/her place. No extension of time will be entertained
Filling of vacant seats - The admission stands closed by the date announced and the courses shall commence from the notified date. Due to unforeseen reasons if a seat falls vacant within the period of closure of admissions, the candidate next in order of merit as per rules will be considered for admission. Resultant vacancies shall be filled by the candidates belongingto the same category as those who vacated the corresponding seat

Prior Qualification required

Candidate holding a Bachelordegree in Physiotherapy from a recognized University and completed/shall be completing 6 months internship by 30-09-2022 in India or a ForeignUniversity with at least 10+2+4 years of educational pattern and a minimum of 6 months internship. Deadlinefor completion of internship is 30th September, 2022.
The candidates who have alreadyregistered for any degree or studying regularcourse and applying for admission to another course in NIMS, shall resign such training course in the Institute duly fulfilling the conditions of the bond and failure to do so, their applications for admission to the other course will be rejected.

Age

The minimum age for admission shall be 22 years completed as on 31-12-2022 and should not be more than 35 years as on 31-12-2022.  Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in the case of SC and ST candidates. For in-service (NIMS) candidates, the age limit is not applicable.

 

Statutory Reservations

Rule of reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes(A,B,C,D and E) shall be applied as per 100 points roster(Rule 22 of Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996). The Roster points from 51 to 65 shall be filled for this year (2022
BC-E reservation: There shall be 4% reservation under BC-E as per memo No.19392/A2/2007-1 dated 29-11-2007. The BC-E certificate based on G.O.Ms.No.23, Backward classes welfare (C2), dated 7th July 2007 should be obtained from Mandal Revenue Officer/Tahsildar on or after 7th July 2007.Admission under BC-E category is subject to condition of further ordersissued either by theGovernment of Telangana or Hon’ble High Court for the State of Telangana or Hon’ble Supreme Courtof India.

The statutory reservations shall be followedby taking the total number of seats in all specialties.
Candidates claiming reservations under SC/ST/BC categories shall submit a permanent social status certificate issued by the competent authority of Government of Telangana as per the format prescribed at Annexure V.
Local Area Reservations

acknowledgement will be sent to the respective candidate by sms / e-mail or to the login account after receipt of the hard copy of Application. Those who have not received acknowledgement of the application shall contact in the office of Associate Dean, Academic 2 Section (Phone No.040-23489189) within one week from the date of submission of hard copy of application. No further correspondence shall be entertained in this matter after prescribed period
The applications of in-service candidates should be forwarded by the appointing authority. The in-service candidates are required to submit service certificate and No Objection Certificate in original from the appointing authority at the time of submission of application
All candidates who are employees in the State of Telangana and Central Government under takings, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi-public institutions should submit their hard copy of the applications along with No Objection Certificate from the appointing authority. The selected candidates should submit relieving order along with original certificates at the time of admission
Any candidate of reserved category, if at all, fails to submit the certificate of social status along with application, his/her candidature will be assumed as ’Open Category (OC)

 

Entrance Test

There shall be a common entrancetest consisting of multiple choice(objective) questions (MCQs)as described below:
Specialty MCQs in musculoskeletal, cardiovascular &Pulmonary and Neurosciences (approximately 50%) related to basic and clinical sciences, biomechanics, physiotherapy techniques, critical care and rehabilitation
General MCQs (approximately 50%) in general clinical sciences (general medicine, general surgery, paediatric, obstetrics and gynaecology, electrotherapy, exercise therapy, first-aid, resuscitations, social & preventive medicine, radiology, sociology and psychology).
The selection shall be by an entrance test for 60 marks consisting 60 multiple-choice questions covering the Bachelor of Physiotherapy course to be answered in 60 minutes
The syllabus for entrance test shall be that of BPT standard of the Universities of Telangana
The entrance test shall be conducted at the venue and date and time specified by the institute
Hall Tickets needs to be downloaded from NIMS website while login with registration number and password on the notified date. The NIMS is not responsible for non-obtaining web based Hall Ticket and no correspondence in any other manner will be made in this matter.
Candidates appearing for entrance test/counselling, NIMS will not be paid any travelling allowance
Candidates indulging in malpractice during the entrance examination will be disqualified and their hall tickets shall be confiscated. The marks of such candidates will not be displayed.
The qualifying marks to be eligible for admission are 50%. In the case of SC, ST candidates the minimum qualifying marks at the entrance test shall be 40%.
All requests for re-counting have to be made within the stipulated time along with the copy of the hall-ticket and payment of Rs.1, 500/- (Rupees one thousand and five hundred only) by paying cash in the NIMS Cash Counter in person. Request for re-counting of the OMR answer sheet of the entrance examination shall not be entertained beyond the time and date as stipulated by the institute. Request for re-counting must be submitted to the Associate Dean, Academic-2, , 2nd floor, Old OPD Block, NIMS, Hyderabad 500 082.

 

Method of Selection

Selection will be made based on the performance of the candidates at the entrance test.

Incase of equality of marks in the entrance examination, the following criteria will be adopted to resolve the ties:

  1. Candidate obtaining higher total percentage of marks in B.P.T. examination followed by
  2. Candidate elder in age will be placed higher in the merit list in that order
The marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination and the names of candidates qualified for counselling will be displayed at NIMS website: www.nims.edu.in.on the date notified. In case the candidate fails to report for counselling he/she forfeits the right to admission
The selection shall be based on the merit in the entrance examination. The statutory reservation rules as prescribed and the distribution of seats among un-reserved and local candidates as per the provisions made in GOP No.646 dated 10th July, 1979 will be followed during counselling..
Counselling Process: Candidates have to report for counselling in person along with all original certificates as mentioned at Annexure IV and they should sign in the attendance register with in the stipulated time failing which he/she shall not be permitted to attend counselling and forfeits the right to admission and the seat shall be offered to the next candidate in the merit list. No request for postponing the date of counselling or request to appear at an earlier date shall be entertained. In case, a candidate fails to report for counselling at the date and time specified, he/she forfeits the right to admissionand the seat shall be offered to the next candidate in the merit list.
Counselling Fee: The candidates recommended for provisional admission are required to pay an amount of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only)towards counselling fee immediately. This amount will be adjusted against the fee to be paid along with the balance of the annual fee to be collected at the time of admission. The counselling fee will be refunded to the candidates who are medically unfit at the time of admission after deducting the medical examination fee of Rs.3500/-.   In case the candidate does not, for any reason, report for admission before the specified date he/she will forfeit the seat and counselling fee and such seat shall be offered to the next candidate in the merit list. The counselling procedure is described at annexure III
For in-service candidates who are pursuing studies and who cannot deposit the original certificates at the time of counselling/admission have to bring xerox copies of the original certificates duly attested by the controlling authorities of the institutions where they are working or studying. They shall also produce a certificate from the institution that they have no objection to the candidate’s admission to the Master of Physiotherapy course and in the event of selection of the candidate to the course he/she shall be relieved immediately. Failure to submit the original certificates shall render the candidate ineligible for admission.
Admission All those candidates who are selected for provisional admission have to submit the original certificates on the date of admission and undergo medical examination. After medical fitness is cleared, the remaining annual fee has to be paid by the candidate and shall execute a bond as per the format prescribed at annexure II. Failure to submit the required certificates, bond or pay the fee shall render the candidate forfeit the seat and such seat shall be allotted to the next candidate in the merit list.
All the candidates joining the course shall execute a bond for an amount ofRs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) at the time of admission on a non-judicial stamped paper of Rs.100/- value along with two sureties (Parents/Guardian) to ensure completion of the prescribed period of course or in default to pay the bond amount and shall also have to refund the amount if any received as stipend up to that date to NIMS. The format of the bond to be executed may be seen at Annexure II.
The candidates are required to submit all original certificates as prescribed at the time of counselling failing which he/she shall not be permitted to attend counselling/admission

Discontinuation of the course

Candidates are permitted to discontinue the course under the following conditions. Bond conditions shall not apply in this case.

  1. Illness certified by the Medical Board of the Institute.
  2. Failing in three attempts in any subject of any examination conducted by the Institute.
