The college Shri. Babubhai Girdharbhai Patel College of Physiotherapy was established in the year 1998 & is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, recognized by the Government of Gujarat for B. Physiotherapy & M, Physiotherapy. This college is also recognized by Gujarat State Council for Physiotherapy ( GSCPT ).

Note: Admissions to physiotherapy (BPT) courses are being brought under the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The Minister for Medical Education has announced that NEET will be made mandatory for BPT admissions across India from the academic year 2026-27

The admission procedure shall be carried out in the following manner:
The Consortium shall issue an advertisement in two English and two Gujarati prominent newspapers widely circulated in the state, invite applications from the eligible candidates for admission to the Gujarat Professional Nursing and Allied Medical Educational Courses on the management seats. The Consortium by advertisement, shall notify the date of issue of application forms. Centers from where the application forms may be obtained and to which to be submitted, the last date for submission of application forms, details of fees to be paid, eligibility criteria, and the number of seats available for admission on the management seats. All the management seats shall be filled in by the Consortium under supervision of the Admission Committee by a single-window system based on an inter-se merit list of the candidates to be admitted against the management seats and whose name appears in the merit list prepared by the Admission Committee.
The Institution shall issue advertisements in one English and two Gujarati leading newspapers Inviting applications with details of the fees to be paid, eligibility criteria, and a number of seats available in Non-resident Indian seats. Candidates shall provide necessary documentary evidence of proof showing Non- Resident Indian Status of their own parents. Candidates passing qualifying examination from abroad shall have to produce an equivalence certificate from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar, or Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
Admissions will be conducted online through GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Service).All MPT admission-related procedures, notifications, and information will be available on this portal.

| Must have completed the mandatory six-month rotatory internship (after BPT). |
| It is “desirable” (but not strictly mandatory) that applicant should have worked as qualified physiotherapist for at least one year in a hospital / institution before applying. |
| Must obtain an “eligibility certificate” from SPU before admission — no candidate is admitted to MPT unless this certificate is issued by SPU. |
