ADMISSION TO B.P.T. (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) DEGREE COURSE AT THE PHYSIOTHERAPY COLLEGES AFFILIATED TO THE Sardar Patel University

For the academic session 2025–26, admissions to Physiotherapy and other state quota courses will be conducted by Sardar Patel University. All updates and notifications regarding the admission process will be published on the university’s official website.

Note: Admissions to physiotherapy (BPT) courses are being brought under the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The Minister for Medical Education has announced that NEET will be made mandatory for BPT admissions across India from the academic year 2026-27

Eligibility Criteria for admission to BPT Course:

  • A candidate applying for the degree of B.P.T being eligible for admission to the Physiotherapy College affiliated to UGC recognized University must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by any Indian University or a duly constituted Board and passed in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and English.
  • Passed the higher secondary examination of twelfth standard in science stream conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board or its equivalent examination with recognized board.
  • He /She has attained the age of 17 years as on 31st December of concerned year.
  • English shall be the medium of instruction for all the subjects of study and for the examinations of the BPT course.

Online Registration for admission:

  1. A candidate seeking admission shall apply on-line for the registration of his/her candidature, on Gujarat Common Admission Services(GCAS) website: gcas.gujgov.edu.in and the University web-site and, within stipulated the timelimit
  2. A candidate who intends to make application for admission in more than one course shall require to make only one time registration. He/she is eligible for admission in desired courses.
  3. GCAS shall publish the date of registration, last date for submission of online Application Form, and other relevant information by advertisement in the prominent newspapers widely circulated in the State, by web-site and by such other means as it may consider convenient/necessary.
  4. For the purpose of registration, a candidate shall be required to make payment of stipulated amount towards the fees for processing of application for admission at GCAS portal

8A copy of certificate of In-Serviceman duly issued by the Commanding Officer of the respective unit, in which he/she is serving (if applicable).
912th Equivalent certificate issued by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (for Diploma /ITI passed students) (if applicable).
10Such other certificates as the University may deem necessary at the time of document verification.
11Those who have gape in a study more than year has to submit an Affidavit for the period of gape

Admission Procedure:

The admission procedure shall be carried out in the following manner:

  1. GCAS shall publish the schedule of admission process on University web-site and by such other means as it may consider necessary.
  2. The candidate shall be required to indicate his choices of colleges/institutions in the application form. The allotment of seats in respective colleges/institute shall be made on the basis of merit, category of the candidate and availability of seats.
  3. The student shall take the print-out of the application form which will be verified at, along with original documents, and certified by the UG Prospectus – 2025-2026 Sardar Patel University Rules for Online Admission Process 13 GCAS/University Approved Help Centre. If any corrections are required to be made, the Help Centre shall make necessary corrections in the University portal. If the student does not fulfill the eligibility criteria OR does not provide the required document/s, the Help Centre shall duly certify his/her application form as "Not Eligible". The Help centre shall accordingly update student's status in the GCAS/University Portal.
  4. GCAS shall prepare merit lists with the criteria of College, Programme and Categories of the eligible candidates.
  5. The merit rank of candidate shall be displayed on Applicant's Desk of the student and by such other means as the University may consider necessary.
  6. The candidate shall contact the concerned college/institute within the stipulated time, pay the necessary fees and confirm his/her admission. The college/institute may ask for the original document/s for verification at the time of confirming the admission. After the verification of documents by the concerned college/institute, the students should collect/obtain back his/her original documents. The college/institute MUST return all the original documents to the student on the same day.
  7. The students should pay only the prescribed fees mentioned in the prospectus. The University approved fees includes Term Fees, Examination fees (As per University norms), Enrolment Fees (50/-) and University Development Fees (250/- per semester, only for Self-Financed Programmes). The Caution Money Deposit and Gymkhana Fees will be collected separately by the respective college/institute.
  8. If a candidate or his/her representative fails to remain present, along with the hard copy of the Application Form and documents for the admission process on the stipulated date and time at respective college/institute or if a candidate fails to pay the University approved fees at respective college/institute, he/she losses the right to admission on the merit basis.
  9. The applicants from other than Gujarat Board who are admitted shall be required to produce Migration Certificate to get their Final Eligibility Certificate (FEC) from Sardar Patel University within a month of their enrollment, failing which their result of the first semester University Exam shall be kept as pending. In such case, upon producing Migration Certificate, the student will be charged Rs. 1000/- {As per Uni. OD. 94(1)} as a penalty.
  10. The applicants seeking admission to the Undergraduate/Diploma Programmes in University affiliated colleges/institutes MUST inform the University without fail if they were booked for adopting unfair means in the earlier Examinations and were punished for the same. In case they have been booked for adopting unfair means and a decision is awaited, then the decision of the University regarding their admission will be final and binding even if they have been admitted to any programme

B. Management Seats-

The Consortium shall issue an advertisement in two English and two Gujarati prominent newspapers widely circulated in the state, invite applications from the eligible candidates for admission to the Gujarat Professional Nursing and Allied Medical Educational Courses on the management seats. The Consortium by advertisement, shall notify the date of issue of application forms. Centers from where the application forms may be obtained and to which to be submitted, the last date for submission of application forms, details of fees to be paid, eligibility criteria, and the number of seats available for admission on the management seats. All the management seats shall be filled in by the Consortium under supervision of the Admission Committee by a single-window system based on an inter-se merit list of the candidates to be admitted against the management seats and whose name appears in the merit list prepared by the Admission Committee.

C. Non-Resident Indian Seats.

The Institution shall issue advertisements in one English and two Gujarati leading newspapers Inviting applications with details of the fees to be paid, eligibility criteria, and a number of seats available in Non-resident Indian seats. Candidates shall provide necessary documentary evidence of proof showing Non- Resident Indian Status of their own parents. Candidates passing qualifying examination from abroad shall have to produce an equivalence certificate from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar, or Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

ADMISSION TO M.P.T. (Master of Physiotherapy) DEGREE COURSE AT THE PHYSIOTHERAPY COLLEGES AFFILIATED TO THE Sardar Patel University

Admissions will be conducted online through GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Service).All MPT admission-related procedures, notifications, and information will be available on this portal.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO MPT COURSE:

Must have completed BPT / B. Physio / B.Sc.(PT) (10+2+3 pattern) from a recognized university, accepted as equivalent by SPU.
Must have completed the mandatory six-month rotatory internship (after BPT).
It is “desirable” (but not strictly mandatory) that applicant should have worked as qualified physiotherapist for at least one year in a hospital / institution before applying.
Must obtain an “eligibility certificate” from SPU before admission — no candidate is admitted to MPT unless this certificate is issued by SPU.
Also, within one month of admission, students should get membership of Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP).
