BPT: Candidates must have passed +2 Science (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board, securing a minimum of 50% marks in PCB combined. The minimum required marks are 45% for Physically Challenged candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates.
MPT: Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks. Additionally, a compulsory six-month internship following the BPT program is required.
Candidates seeking admission to Master’s Degree courses must apply directly to State Government–approved institutions through offline mode. These approved institutions will conduct counseling for eligible candidates and upload the required data online to the Combined Paramedical Counseling portal. The original documents verified by the institutions will then be forwarded to the Convener, Selection Committee, for final approval as per the scheduled timeline.

Note: Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) who migrate from their State of origin to another State for educational purposes will continue to be treated as SC/ST of their original State and can claim reservation benefits only from their State of origin, as per Government of India Letter No. BC/16014.1.82-SC & BCD dated 22nd February 1985. If suitable candidates are not available in any reserved category, the vacant seats will be allotted to Unreserved (UR) category candidates; however, interchangeability between SC and ST categories is not permitted. Additionally, five percent (5%) of the annual sanctioned intake is reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities, in line with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Eligibility under this category will be determined by a designated Medical Board, and candidates must appear before the Board at a later notified date. There is no reservation applicable for any course offered under the Lateral Entry scheme.
PROCEDURE OF APPLICATION
Eligible candidates must apply online through the official website of DMET Odisha. An application fee of Rs. 600/- per course must be paid online via State Bank Collect (Odisha → Government Department → Combined Paramedical Counseling, DMET Odisha → Counseling Fee). The application fee is non-refundable. Candidates are required to attend the document verification on the scheduled date, which will be announced on the website. During verification, they must submit a printed copy of the online application form, a copy of the bank transaction receipt, and photocopies of all required documents, along with the original documents for verification. After successful document verification, a merit list will be prepared and published on the website. Any additional information or updates will be notified by the Convener on the DMET Odisha website.
Candidates must then lock their preferred course and institution online as per the notified schedule. Seat allotment will be done on a merit basis. After allotment, the candidate may download the allotment-cum-admission letter and must appear personally before the Convener on the specified date, time, and venue with the required admission fees for provisional admission. The mode of payment will be notified by the Convener. At this stage, candidates must submit their original College Leaving Certificate / School Leaving Certificate and will receive a provisional admission letter.
Finally, candidates must report to the allotted institution within the stipulated time as notified and submit a copy of the provisional admission letter to complete the admission process at the institutional level.
PROCEDURE OF SELECTION: The selection process will be based on a merit list prepared from the percentage of marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics (whichever is higher). In the event of a tie in the merit score preference will be given first to candidates with higher total marks at the +2 level followed by those securing higher marks in Biology/Mathematics then higher marks in Chemistry at the +2 level. If the tie still remains unresolved the candidate older in age will be given preference.
Seat allotment will be carried out online based on the candidate’s merit and choices. The allotment list will be published on the official website of DMET Odisha. If vacancies remain after the completion of counselling for any reason, the Convener may announce a spot counselling round. Physical presence of the candidate is mandatory to participate in spot counselling. The procedure for spot counselling will be conducted as per the notified guidelines.
All procedures, schedules, and updates regarding various rounds of online counseling—including choice locking, provisional admission, and reporting—will be published by the Convener on the official DMET Odisha website in the appropriate section. Candidates are advised to visit the website regularly for timely information. The Selection Committee will conduct counseling for all seats in Government institutions and 85% of the seats in private institutions. The remaining 15% of seats in private institutions will be filled under the management quota by the respective institutions. If any state-quota seats in private institutions remain vacant after the completion of counseling, they will be deemed surrendered to the institution and filled at the institutional level. Institutions must enter the details of students admitted under the management quota online and inform the Convener within one month of the completion of state counseling. No admissions will be permitted after this period under any circumstances. Institutions must also submit the documents of admitted candidates to the Convener for verification and deposit the application fee of Rs. 600/- per candidate through SB Collect.
