College of Physiotherapy was started under the aegis of K.M. Shah Charitable Trust in the year 2001. The College became one of the Constituent Institute of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University in 2007, others being Medical, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Health care management Department and para medical courses. College of Physiotherapy is attached to Dhiraj hospital (DH), a constituent unit of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth, which is a 1065 bedded, multispecialty teaching hospital. Care is provided to a multitude of patients by highly trained and experienced faculty under the specialties of Orthopaedics & Traumatology, Neurology & Neuro Surgery, Cardiology & Pulmonology, Dermatology, General Medicine and Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Radiology. Quality Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation services also are part of the total care. College of Physiotherapy renders education under the faculty of Allied Health Sciences. The physiotherapy department at Dhiraj Hospital is highly spacious and equipped with state-of-the-art instruments to impart high quality education, patient care as well as carry out various researches including clinical trials. The department is always abuzz with clinical and academic activities. Care is provided to a multitude of patients by highly trained and experienced Physiotherapy faculties with specialties of Musculo-skeletal Disorders and Sports, Neurological conditions & Psychosomatic Disorders, Cardio-Pulmonary conditions and ICU’s, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, and Geriatrics. Physiotherapy department boasts of a diverse, highly skilled, trained and experienced team of specialist faculties, who are the alumni of some of the best physiotherapy institutes in India.
