Vikas College of Physiotherapy

Vikas College of Physiotherapy, established in 2000 in Mangalore, Karnataka, is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and managed by the Vikas Education Trust. The college offers both Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) programs designed to provide students with a strong academic foundation and hands-on clinical training in areas such as musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and sports rehabilitation. Major Updates (Starting 2026)

The process for BPT admission is changing to align with national standards:

• Entrance Exam: Admissions to physiotherapy courses are being integrated with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The Minister for Medical Education announced that Karnataka will conduct physiotherapy admissions through NEET. While some private colleges may still offer non-NEET admissions for the Management Quota in 2025, NEET will be mandatory from the academic year 2026 for BPT across India.
• Course Duration: The BPT course duration is being extended to five years (4 years of academics + 1-year internship) effective from 2026.

The Government of Karnataka has authorized the Directorate of Medical Education for the selection of candidates through centralized online counseling by the Karnataka Examination Authority for admission to B.Sc Nursing, BPT, B.P.O, and B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences courses for the seats in Government colleges and Government seats in private colleges.

Application Fee:

• General and OBC candidates Rs.800/-
• SC, ST, Category – I and PWD candidates Rs.400/-

Academic Eligibility:

For admission to 1st year B.P.T Course: Applicant should have passed II-PUC / 12th Standard (10+2) or equivalent examination individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained not less than 40% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (35% in case of SC/ST & OBC applicants).

Reservation of Seats:-

Seats will be reserved for the following categories to the extent the Government specifies it.

1. The SC / ST/Category-I / 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B and other eligibility criteria are applicable to Karnataka candidates who are eligible to claim eligibility for Government seats under clauses (a), (b), (f), (h), (j), (k) and the same is not applicable to eligibility clauses (c), (d), (e), (g), (i) to claim Government Seats and Government quota seats.
2. Reservation of seats in certain categories, such as Rural, Kannada, etc and in Special Categories such as NCC, Sports, etc is applicable only to Karnataka candidates who are eligible for Government seats and Government Quota seat

Certificates in original along with one set of attested copy to be produced at the time of Document Verification:

• Final printout of the online application form.
• Proof of having paid the application fees.
• S.S.L.C marks card (for proof of Date of Birth).
• Marks Card of II-PUC or equivalent examination.
• Study Certificate countersigned by the concerned BEO/DDPI NOTE: CBSE, CISCE candidates should produce the study certificate obtained from the Principal of their respective schools. Further, the countersignature of BEO or DDPI is not required for them

If applicable, the following documents should be produced,

• Kannada Medium Study Certificate countersigned by the concerned BEO, for the candidates claiming Kannada Medium reservation benefits.
• Rural Study Certificate countersigned by the concerned BEO and a verification certificate (only for GM candidates).
• Caste Certificate / Caste Income Certificate / Income Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahsildar, for the candidates claiming Reservation benefits. (Caste and Income Certificate in Form ‘D’ in case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and in Form ‘E’ in case of Category-I and a Caste Income Certificate in Form ‘F’ for other backward classes like 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B, issued by the jurisdictional Tahsildar)Domicile Certificate for 10 years in Karnataka (Issued by the Tahsildar of Karnataka) or Study Certificate of seven years in Karnataka.
• Hyderabad-Karnataka Region Reservation (Article 371 (j):) Candidates claiming must submit the certificate in Annexure – A (eligibility certificate – rule 3(3)) issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner during document verification.
• Parent’s study certificate / Parent’s Hometown certificate / Parent’s Domicile certificate / Parent’s Employment certificate / Parent’s Cumulative Record / Parent’s Marks Card, etc., for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats based on the domicile/study/employment of the parent. xi. For Horanadu, Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates, and Anglo Indian Candidates: Affidavit Duly sworn in for the candidates who claim eligibility under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses & Anglo Indian clauses.
• Parent’s study certificate / Parent’s Hometown certificate / Parent’s Domicile certificate / Parent’s Employment certificate / Parent’s Cumulative Record / Parent’s Marks Card, etc., for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats based on the domicile/study/employment of the parent.
• For Horanadu, Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates, and Anglo Indian Candidates: Affidavit is Duly sworn in for the candidates who claim eligibility under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses & Anglo Indian clauses.
• The candidate shall be eligible to claim caste, category, and income benefit only if he has claimed the same in the online application form. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Category-I claiming seats under reserved category shall also produce an Income certificate issued by the jurisdictional Tahsildar for verification if fee exemption is to be claimed.
• Relevant Certificates for those who are claiming an exemption for seven years of study in Karnataka.
• Physical Fitness Certificate

Guidelines to fill the online Application form:

Since the Applicant should upload their photographs in online application entry, the applicant should scan their passport size photograph (Snapped with Name & Date on the photograph) in .jpg format and make it available for uploading with the following specifications.

Width = 1.3 inches, Height = 1.6 inches, Resolution = 200 X 200 dpi and the file size should be less than 100kb.

Select the Course – “B.Sc Nursing/ BPT / BPO / B.Sc Allied Science”

1. Name of the Candidate: Fill the name in BLOCK LETTERS as per the 10th standard Marks Card.
2. Mother’s Name: Mother’s name in full should be filled.
3. Father’s Name: Father’s Name should correspond to the form and spelling in the 10th standard Marks Card.
4. Date of Birth: The Date of Birth should correspond to the entry in the the10th Marks Card in dd/mm/yyyy.
5. Place of Birth: Select the District in which you were born.
6. Gender: Select from the drop-down list Female/Male.
7. Nationality: Enter the Nationality.
8. Qualifying Examination: PUC (10+2) or Equivalent Examination
9. Marks obtained in II PUC (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics)
10. Domicile of Karnataka: Select from the drop-down list Yes/No.
11. Category: Select the respective category and enclose the certificate obtained from the Tahsildar of Karnataka

How to apply:

The sharing of seats in respect of Government seats and Management seats in Private Colleges:-

In Government Order No. HFW 211 RGU 2016 dated:28/09/2016, the percentage of seat-sharing in the Private Nursing and Physiotherapy colleges in the State has been published with respect to Graduate Courses for the academic year 2018-2019, in the ratio of 20:80 as 20% for the Government Quota and 80% for the Management Quota, respectively.

Admission to Master of Physiotherapy in Government colleges and Government seats in Private Aided / unaided Minority & non minority Colleges in Karnataka.

Eligibility: (Master of Physiotherapy)

(i) Candidate should be a citizen of India and domicile of Karnataka.
(ii) Candidate who has passed or appearing the examination/internship B.Sc. (PT) or BPT degree from this University or any other University located in Karnataka state recognized as equivalent by RGUHS with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate are eligible. And such applicants should produce all documents including internship on or before counseling date.
(iii) Candidate should not have attained the age of 45years on the last date fixed for submission of application to PG Degree Entrance Test.
(iv) Candidates who have completed or are completing Internship on or before date of counseling.

Registration Fee:

• General and OBC candidates Rs. 1500/-
• SC, ST, Category - I & PH candidates Rs.800/-

Reservation in favour of certain categories:

Orders issued by Government of Karnataka from time to time for reservation in seats for constitutionally permissible classes of Karnataka candidates such as SC and ST and Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB, are applicable. Failure to produce the latest income and category certificate issued by Tahsildar of Karnataka will result in forfeiture of his/her claim for reservation and he/she will be considered as a candidate belonging to General Category only. Requests for change of category will not be entertained after submission of the application.

The candidates claiming Reservation under Hyderabad Karnataka Region.

The candidates claiming Reservation under Hyderabad Karnataka Region as local persons should produce the relevant certificate issued by the Jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner of the Revenue Sub-Division for claiming reservation under Article 371J (Hyderabad - Karnataka Region). Non production of the certificate during Document Verification will result to rejection of his claim.

Certificates to be produced at the time of Document Verification:

1. S.S.L.C. Marks Card (For age proof and parent’s name).
2. Birth Certificate/Cumulative Record/any other certificate for proof of place of birth.
3. B.Sc (Nursing)/PC B.Sc (Nursing)/BPT Marks Card / B.Pharm Marks Card of all Phases/Years
4. Degree Certificate issued by the University
5. Attempt Certificate issued by the Principal of concerned college
6. Compulsory Rotatory Internship/Industrial Training Completion Certificate or Certificate indicating the likely date of completion, issued by the Principal of the College.
7. Council/Board Registration Certificate. B.Sc (Nursing), PC B.Sc Nursing/ BPT / B.Pharm
8. Professional Experience Certificate in case of Nursing
9. Domicile Certificate issued by the Tahsildar of Karnataka or Study Certificate from 1st to 10th Standard.
10. Valid Income & Category Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahsildar of Karnataka, if reservation is claimed.
11. Certificate under article 371-J for claiming HK region reservation issued by the competent authority. Certificate under article 371-J for claiming HK region reservation issued by the competent authority.
12. As per G.O No. DPAR 20 SBC 82, dated 28th December,1983 in case of Married women category certificate in the name of candidate name along with Husband’s name.
13. Any other Certificates required.
